December 18, 2023, Las Vegas, NV 24-year-old Chance Comanche, a prospective basketball player for the Stockton Kings of the G League, a G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, was taken into custody in Las Vegas on suspicion of first-degree murder. The incident that led to the arrest happened early on Sunday, December 17, close to the Las Vegas Strip.
There are still few details available about the incident, with representatives of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department citing the ongoing investigation as the basis for their restricted disclosure of information. It has been verified, nevertheless, that the victim—a 32-year-old male Las Vegas resident—was discovered unconscious and suffering from multiple stab wounds in a hotel room subsequent to police responding to a reported altercation.

Before declaring for the NBA draft in 2022, 6'4" guard Comanche was a standout player at the University of Nevada, Reno.
